Track Update - May 3, 2010

Titan Track Bulletin - May 3, 2010This will be an abbreviated Update as I’ve got a little too much to do to get ready for Region to go into detail about the meets.

SYRACUSE / NORTHRIDGE / FREMONT TRI-MEET
The Titans emerged victorious at the tri-meet held at Northridge Wednesday. The Girls scored 45 points to slip by Northridge, who had 44, and Fremont with 42. The Boys finished with 81 points. Northridge had 31 and Fremont 30. As usual for 2010, the meet was run in poor weather conditions. I’d go into more detail but the results sent out by the host school were a little suspect.

BYU INVITATIONAL
The Titans battled the snow, rain and wind at the 100th BYU Invitational Friday and Saturday. We didn’t load up athletes trying to keep them rested and healthy going into Region. Over 80 schools from Utah and surrounding states competed in the meet. Hunter Naisbitt was our lone individual champion as he captured the shot put throwing 50'06. Chris Jackson ran 15.28 to set a school record and place 6th in the 110m hurdles. Aaron Hill threw 143'08 in terrible conditions to finish 3rd in the discus. Jake Rossmango, Chris Brown, Preston Williams and Tyler Siddoway ran great legs to place 2nd in the 4x400m relay in 3:25.93, just off the school record.
Hannah Williams had a great meet for the Lady Titans. She ran a school record and state qualifying time of 2:20.31 to finish 2nd in the 800m run. She also ran 11:30.63 to finish as the #3 5A runner in the 3200m run for another school record and state qualifying time. Mayra Franco ran 12.74 to place 6th in the 100m dash. Mayra, Sasha Russell, Shelby Cadwell and Kelsey Westbroek ran a school record time of 50.17 to place 7th in the 4x100m relay.
