Great first week of workouts. I think more was accomplished than in any first week I can remember. This was due to great help from the coaches and some great senior leadership. It really made a big difference to have some veterans help the rookies get through the first week. A real “shout out” to the athletes whose main focus may be another sport (FB, XC, VB, BB, WR, etc.). Having that competitive attitude really helps. With everyone’s help, this can be a GREAT year!

COMMITMENT
For new athletes: Strive to be the best athlete possible. Amazingly, attending and completing every workout can help that process. For veterans, you should know what it takes to be successful. Make the commitment to help yourself and the TEAM reach the highest levels of success possible.

INTRASQUAD MEET
Friday will be our first competition of the year. We will divide into two TEAMS - Seniors vs. Sophomores/Juniors. We want all of you to enter up to four events and get some experience, even if it’s in an event you really haven’t been training for. Don’t be afraid to try something different.



LOCKERS
Boys- Lockers will be issued Wednesday after practice. To get a TEAM locker, you must have turned in all forms, paid your fees, cleared all “U’s” and been coming to all of the workouts.

UNIFORMS
We will hand out uniforms Saturday beginning at about 10:00 am (after a brief workout). To receive a uniform, you must have turned in your Code of Conduct, Tryout Checklist, and Hazing forms, Physical “A” or “B” form (unless you have participated in a sport at Syracuse this year), paid your fees ($40 for the District fee, $20 for Transportation fee), AND be ELIGIBLE- that means no “U’s”, a 2.0 GPA and no more than 1 “F” from 2nd term.

U MAKEUP
Many of you have “U’s”. You can start making them up after practice each day. All “U’s” must be made up before you can compete (except for the Intrasquad meet), get a locker or receive a uniform.
